Totals Snap

Today in my Gr 5 class we were looking at counting and addition skills.

By putting our heads together, a few of the class and I came up with a relatively simple game that we call ‘Totals Snap’.

The object of the game is to turn over cards and try to identify pairs that add up to a pre-determined total. In this clip the total we were aiming for was 11. You can change the target total to suit the children in your class.

Players take it in turn to place down a card, and if 2 cards in a row add up to the target total...SNAP!!!

Play for a set amount of time, or if a player loses all of their cards, the player with the most is the winner. (But being the winner is not the focus of the game, just play it for fun!!)

We hope you like it!!
