What Would You Rather...?

This is a great activity for developing skills in addition and multiplication.

And also for absolutely surprising the kids with their own predictions. It never ceases to amaze me, or them!!

So, here goes...

What would you rather have...

(A) $10 000.00 today

or

(B) 1cent today, double that tomorrow (2 cents) double that the next day (4 cents) and so on for 30 days?

I love hearing their initial responses, but then they start to think that there is a trick.

Let them start working it out for themselves rather than leading them through it, but of course provide that enabling support where needed. You know your kids.
